Job Description

The Senior Manager of IT Applications Operations manage activities related to delivery of cloud-enabled Infrastructure for business application and IT project portfolios. This operations leader will have a strong technical background in design and implementation of complex enterprise applications and infrastructure from Development to Production. Applying proven leadership skills, organizational and communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of operations best practices, the senior manager will lead a skilled group of technical individuals to ensure high availability for production and non production systems. Sharing their team’s experience with internal leadership and external customers through case studies, whitepapers, and presentations on a regular basis is essential for success.

Responsibilities:

Ensures the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization.

Leads the IT department infrastructure team in technical and operational planning

Ensures appropriate system design including emergency planning, remote system management, room for expansion, back-ups and redundancy

Plans, coordinates and designs IT-related activities. Provides administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. Works closely with the Director to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Performs life-cycle planning for systems by reviewing historical performance and projecting future needs from production implementation through system retirement Define standards, policies and guidelines ensuring that quality delivery methodologies are defined and consistently executed

Guides ongoing efforts for IT system management, monitoring and planning across the enterprise Identifies and implements opportunities for improved system utilization through capacity planning initiatives Identifies implementation-specific methods, controls and quality assurance criteria that complies with IT industry policies

Serves as the point of escalation and review for issues or concerns identified

Manage the operations infrastructure design and deployment of new applications infrastructure, system software, and/or enhancements to existing business applications

Working with Project Managers and Leadership to providing status reports, metrics, resource coordination and related documentation to ensure that project objectives are met; that all operations tasks and deliverables are well documented and communicated Work closely with Development and QA teams in to interpret project requirements in order to correctly meet Performance and Availability SLAs in Production and non-PROD environments

Work with key architects and managers to establish and enforce operations best practices for delivery of high quality infrastructure into cloud and virtualized environments

Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review and design of the application infrastructure

Experience and Skills:

  • 5-7 years experience in leading a global team of administrators, technical project leads, and architects for Operations suport of enterprise applications and systems including SAP, Oracle EBS, Databases, SOA/OSB Middleware, Identity Management, Informatica Liferay/SpringTc Server Portals, Greenplum Databases

  • Extensive experience with SAP ERP (Hana) and Oracle EBS – managing multiple large implementation/migration initiatives

  • Experience working in virutalized environments with in-depth knowledge of business applications, integrations and IT infrastructure – DBs, Platforms, Enterprise Storage, Cloud Technologies (vSphere/vCloud)

  • Strong in implementing and Oracle Business Intelligence solutions and large Data Warehouse environments including Pivotal Greenplum

  • Exposure to project methodology or work structures; understand project lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall) relating to IT infrastructure delivery

  • Experience working with Development, QA, Release, Project Managers and Business teams reviewing requirements, Test and Release plans, Transition to operations, and ensuring Operational Standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle

  • Experience with designing and supporting complex multi-tiered applications

  • Experience with vendor selection, resource and budget management

  • Strong in Database, Application, and ERP implementation experience and troubleshooting skills in a mission critical and SDLC environments

  • Best practices to implement Operations standards, processes, and procedures

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing high availability solutions in cloud environments

  • Excellent communication skills and customer-support focused attitude

  • Ability to present technical information (verbal and written) to internal and external customers

  • Ability to define and implement application, integration, and database administration architectures and operational procedures

Education :

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology

  • Relevant professional certification
